Got some coming, they are the correct ones for the 99 R1, will they come
    pre-gapped?

For the 15 seconds it takes, I'd check them myself.

None of the dealers I know ever bother, because they come pre-gapped at
factory and are never out when checked.

Ahh. Useful thing to have in the kit, IMHO.

I have two. Not that I ever use them, or could find them.

Open box, screw into engine, leave for 20,000 miles.

I've never needed to gap an iridium plug yet and I've changed hundreds
(probably a slight exaggeration) of them over the years.

You have far more experience than I. I haven't replaced plugs with gaps
in for about 13 years (Rachel's Sprint, the 116 had multi-electrodes).
They weren't out either, but I used to check.

No, but I wouldn't worry about it. However there's a chance they won't
come with screw caps either (mine didn't), so if you haven't got any
spares laying around, prepare for a trip to your local motor factors to
buy four of the cheapest plugs they do with removable caps. Make sure
they are removable too - many aren't these days.

Fucking cheapskate, but every fucker's at it these days.

I have a box with about 8 or 9 of plug tops at home for just such times.

Hmm, forewarned is forewarned, i'll take the tops off my spare plugs
before I chuck 'em if they're pulling stunts like this ..

Just visually check the gap hasn't been closed up by any rough
handling in transit before they got to you.

Just check one against the other, they should all be the same.
