Next year's worldsuperbikes

  1. I would love to know what everyone's opinion on next years WorldSuperBikes
series, do you think the one tyre manufacture is a good or bad decision? do
you think the series will suffer because of the other manufacturers like
Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki and Yamaha pulling out?

I think that, as usual, I will go to attend all the WSB events that take
place within a reasonable distance from where I live.
Then, and just then, I will judge.

Laguna will be doubly uninteresting from the WSB side simply because I doubt
any of the AMA guys will wildcard the race. I think a lot of local fans go
to see their wild cards as much or more than to see the WSB regulars in
their local events. With the Pirelli Tire thing, I doubt the wild cards will
be willing to learn the rubber in order to play.

    True Italian?
Not exactly, for your information, I am a Lombard separatist.
I enjoy attending WSBK for many reasons. I like the environment, the people
who are at these races (as opposite as nowadays MotoGP public) are true
connoisseurs, people that enjoy motorbike racing per se, independently from
the star status of any rider. Then I also love the tracks in which WSBK is
raced. To be honest, the Mugello is a great track, too, but on average,
while the MotoGP schedule includes a lot of bad, non interesting tracks (Le
Mans, Welkom, Jerez come to mind) WSBK visits some of the best in the world
(the 3 local ones, the 2 Brit tracks, Laguna etc..., only real exception is
Oscene-sleben). I also prefer the fact that WSBK is contested on bikes that
I can see daily on the road (and yes, there in fact some people around here
who bought a 999 Duc) and not on prototypes.
Last but not least, WSBK support classes are much better than MotoGPs.
WSSport is probably the closest championship around, while 250 became so
tragically boring in the last few years, particularly when you compare it
to how it was 10 years ago.
If you choose to miss the best, that's your problem. Not mine.

  5. Not really truth this year. C. Vermeulen was too much dominating and the WSS
races have been sometimes boring. On the opposite GP250 is the only
championship (from the GPs and WSBK/WSS) where we had to wait the last race
    for the title.
