    Hello all.

When I last wrote in July, I'd just completed my DAS and with 5 biking
days under my belt in total, went out and like a loon, bought a
CBR600F. Some of you wittily joked about seeing me in casualty.

I had several pleasant months, did 130ish on the deserted old A1 near
Wetherby, had plenty of fun in the sun etc.

And in December I lost the back wheel while doing about 15mph on a
damp bend in a retail park, highsided, broke my radial head bone in my
right arm, and did 1300 quids worth of damage to my third-party
    insured, £2700 o.n.o beastie.

So may I say this to whom it may concern:

    1) Even if you break an arm cleanly, it still takes at least 2 months
to get back to anything like normal, and the pain, inconvenience and
worry is NO FUN AT ALL, specially when you need to drive yer car to
get to work / the shops / the nursery etc. Maybe I should have learned
    how to fall properly ;)

    2) If you think 1300 quid is a lot of money, get fully comp insurance.
Shit happens when you least expect it. But it certainly happens to
    newbies!

    3) Get some decent tyres.

That is all. I'm gonna pick up my newly fixed bike on saturday, having
heeded my own advice. But I might get something a bit more laid back
for the rest of this year. Anyone here had fun on a Honda Shadow?

    Nighty night and take care.

Don't try to fix your bike too soon because it doesn't take much torque
on a typical spanner to reopen a partially healed fracture.

Very Herleigh-esque. Bit high mileage for a 52-plate cruiser, though.

There's a woman I know itimately who calls it a blow job when I go down
on her. I don't have the heart to try and correct her.

  13. Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique,
I thoroughly recommend buying motorcycles from this man.

100% of the motorcycles I have bought from him have been a right fucking
    laugh.

one would assume that in an own-fault accident on a TP-insured bike,
the OP wouldn't be stupid enough to inform his insco...
