    if a FEW of them were 2 or 3k over redbook value that might suggest that
    they were overpriced, if MOST of them are 2 or 3k over redbook value
    that suggests that redbook is not a good indication of the market
    value... and you've been reading ausmoto long enough to know that it
    isn't.

    Red book isn't a guide, it's a wild arse guesstimate

    TRX have become a bit of a cult bike (google up the thread on it !) and
    hence will get more for them than other similar bikes of that era

    Pillion accomodation is shockingly bad (although somewhat improvable
    aftermarket via a gel seat pad), rider accomodation isn't too bad, I did
    a few thousand k days on mine.

    The TRX series have artificially inflated prices due to a perceived 'cult
    status', that won't effect Redbook unless it's persists for some time.

    As I said on netrider the prices are based on sale prices. Those inflated
    TRX prices have to result in sales (of numbers similar to earlier sales),
    before the redbook prices would reflect those advertised prices.
