Clubman van then eh eh? Was there such a thing?

Anyhow, how many 125 models did Honda make? (15 min, 10 points)

Not for the UK market. A Mini Van was a Mini Van throughout the
production run, based on a Mk1 Mini front end. Very few changes were
made to them and most of those were to the engine/gearbox.
    Dunno, don't care.

I'd be tempted by a brand new Chinese equivalent if it's a disposable
you're looking for, and at that price I think it is.

    e.g.
    ebay Item number: 270102995344
    £475
    unbranded 125

    ebay Item number: 200090928753
    £699
    Jinlun JL125

Don't know what's involved when you receive a "bike in a box" but for
that price it's worth a look.

The second one asks you to phone for a price for:
Completion of administrative paperwork including postage by Recorded
    Delivery
    First Registration with the DVLA
    12 months Road Tax
    Fitted Tax Disc Holder
    Fitted Number Plate
    Supplied "L" Plates

    Oooh, I'll play.

Let's see now. Assuming you mean four-strokes...

CB92, CB125 twin (styled like the CB175), CB125T (bloody fast, cable
front disc), CB125 Super Dream (horrible detuned version of the
former), CM125 (Custom version of former), CD125 Benly (commuter
version), CA125 (low rider thingy), lots of OHC singles: CB125S,
CB125J (sportier version of former), CB125RS (even sportier version),
    XL125 (quite a few versions of that), SL125 (faux-MX), TL125 (trials),
CG125 (Makes Sign of Holy Pushrods), 125 Varadero, that new Innova
    stepthru thing....

That's 16. There must be more.

It can take the new owner 6 weeks or more to get a new V5, because the DVLA
have taken to doing more checks (or wasting even more time than usual), but
it should take less than half that time for the original ower to get one. I
don't speak with forked tongue because I've got a SOC sat in my garage
waiting until the DVLA get off their arses and was told "minimum 6 weeks"
before the new V5 arrives and it's pissing me off having to move it every
    bastard day.

Have you had this other bike HPI checked btw? Also, it costs more for YOU to
get the V5 than it does for him I believe.

That was my first bike. Can't remember if it was 16 or 18bhp but
I'm pleased to know that it was bloody fast 'cos I thought it took
about 12 seconds to get to 60mph. The older I get the faster my bike was.

There are. I'm not up-to-date[1] on recent models, but I'm fairly sure
I've seen badges with CBR125, NSR125, plus off-roaders like various
generations of CR125, the XLV 'varadero', the VT125 cruisery thing,
and a whole host of scooter types.

If it's a decent bike with fairly low mileage it's an OK price. Prices for
125's will go up as the weather gets warmer.

BTW, welcome to the group. An island of sanity in an insane world.

    40K

For a car I've always gone by 8k/year for a little hatchback, 10k for a
saloon and 12k for anything bigger.

For a bike I have no idea. I'm also keeping an eye on a 93 Yammy SR, may
go for under £500 with full MOT...

Decisions, decisions. I just don't wanna throw my money away, it does
tend to be hard to come by :)

Others may disagree but regardless of the number of years with a bike it
is more about servicing and treatment. 40k even in miles is not in
itself an issue but lower is always nicer for resale purposes.

If it has been ridden with any degree of enthusiasm then it will have
been with the throttle set to digital.

This applies particularly to smaller less powerful bikes as speed and
acceleration are much more dependant upon power/weight ratios and a
little bike doing 40k with, possibly, adult sized numbers of kilos sat
upon it will have to have been thrashed to bollox just avoid being
    overtaken by milk floats.

It is rare that you hear of any of the Fat Bastards Club membership
around here admitting to more than a few seconds of full throttle but
those of us who ride bikes of less than 501cc know of no other way, even
    the perfectly formed skinny ones.
