    Thanks to everyone for your comments/suggestions.
    I'll be spending the next couple of weeks test-riding bikes, researching
    bikes online, getting quotes, etc.

    My first was a TS50, and that did the same to me. However, it wasn't
    me riding it. It was my brother who "had a go" and promptly aimed
    straight for the nearest tree. After wedging the front wheel against
    it he tried to dig a small trench in the garden using the rear wheel by
    pinning the throttle WFO.
