Sorry, didn't hear that... can you repeat that please? ;-).
Uh, oh. so the headlight (hi and lo beam) runs off AC?
The one on the compliance plate starts with xl250s-3309...

BTW, I have a jpg copy of the schematic I can email you - might mean more to
    you than to me ;-).

    Cheers,
    Nicholas

  2. Hmmmm Gauntlet thrower, I'll have to check if the DT was/is an AC light
circuit. I don¹t think it was.

ADR What now? My bike, the ever lovable CT-110, is complete with battery
(12V) etc and yet the headlight, doesn't, hasn't, won't and never will run
unless the engine is running. This is common to all Postiebikes, so I
seriously doubt there is an ADR saying it must.

    Cheers,

The ZZR is light off at key on, light on at engine on, and if
you stall the engine or summat without turning the key off,
    the light will stay on.

Hey! We've been through this. I WAS WRONG!

(The XL250S has an AC circuit for the headlight, so the ADRs allow it
to not run its headlight with the engine off. Presumably ditto the
postie. I assumed the XL250S would be the same as the CB250RS, which
has a DC headlight ... oddly enough, the problem with Nicholas's bike
seems to be that it had the wrong headlight switch on it, presumably
because I'm not the only one it confused!)

    -----sharks <--- wrong.

FWIW, I just put my postie through a roadworthy, and they were fine with
the light (which is only on when running). They didn't think much of my
hot-glue-gun repair of the footpeg rubber, or the tight-spots in the
chain, but that is a different matter!
