Well, went there and stayed in the van saturday night.
there was some excellent cheap winter bikes about
H reg XJ900 in running order, if a little scruffy (£295).
Suzuki GS 850G near mint taxed and tested (£500),
    so, what did i buy?
    a guitar[1] and amp!
some panniers for the SOBMW (a tenner the pair)
    autojumbles eh?

Unless they're totally fucked that isn't a bad price at all. Even
half-decent sets go for around a ton.

was seen penning the following ode to ... whatever:
Not the Krauser ones. They're around 20-50 per pair.

  5. I've got a set of plastic Krauser panniers and top box somewhere. Some
plastic frames as well, although one of them is bust. All with locks a
    keys. Anybody need them ?

For the K series? I didn't think that there were Krauser ones for the
    K. Of course I could be wrong; I did assume we were discussing BMW
    panniers here tbh.

sorry, should have said, they are not *actual* BMW panniers they seem to be
    of a universal nature.
they are "craven" ones, and it didn't turn out to be such a good deal as i
have just discovered that they are locked and the seller didn't givbe me the
    keys.......
i'm a dozy twat at times hehe :)

  10. I used to sell used Krauser sets for ukp75-100, for frames, fittings,
    panniers and keys.

Panniers on their own are worth far less. Without keys, less still.

Luckily I found a locksmith who could copy the old Krauser pressed steel
    keys.

I *think* they've come down a bit, at least if you're talking BMW
gear. Hardly anyone needs the frames, so the panniers are often sold
    on their own.
Screwdriver r00lez. The locks are rather shit IME...

  12. Funnily enough, last night I was trying to figure out if I could fit a set
of frames to the Z200, so I could use the panniers off the Evil Twin.

I had the same thoughts about fitting some old 80s style panniers to the
    SOCB250RS.

  15. The problem with the Z is it's so wee. If I had welding kit and a
pipe-bender, I could probably knock something up, but actually mounting it
    would be a challenge.

I was thinking of mounting mine off the rack that is fitted at the
moment, with a couple of brackets down to the rear footrest mountings to
hold them steady. I've got to find some panniers first.

I don't think you want them held steady mate, I'd have them follow the
    rest of the bike IIWY...

Something on this bike needs holding steady, at the moment it all seems
to be held together by unnatural forces along with some hopes and
    prayers.

  19. I thought of attaching them to the rear footrest, until I realised that it
    was mounted on the swingarm.

FYI Gaffa tape is not (strictly speaking) an "unnatural force".
