I managed it by switching to decaff every other cup, then making the
decaff the only option after a while and then cutting down the amount
of cups per day gradually once I'd weaned myself off the caffeine.

Good idea, that might be the answer as it's the taste rather than the
    buzz.

Kinda flys in the face of my goal to drink less rather than none. I do
rather like the stuff. I drink a lot of water [about 2 ltrs per day]
and I also like those herb tea things. Green tea with lemon is my
favourite. There's something very cleansing about it and peppermint tea
is great for settling the stomach.

Coffee cold turkey is quite unpleasant, unless you stay drunk to cover it.

Is that easy to do or do they have strict immigration?

Yebbut, that doesn't stop your saying, 'nah, I'll have a cup later'. I
mean like, what's so difficult? I've never understood 'addiction' kind
of people. In my single/dumped days, I was knocking back two bottles of
wine a day, and thought, '**** this'. I stopped overnight, and still
manage to drink 'socially' when the occasion requires it.

Well, as mentioned up there ^^^, there are some who still think I'm not
Jewish. I'm sure they'll be laughing when, on 12 July of this year, I
leave Paris and head over there. Personally, I laughed on 20 November
when awaiting my interview in the Jewish Agency offices, in the XIV
arrondissement of Paris. I giggled when SO and I filled in the form for
alya. I chuckled when we sent those forms away, along with proof of our
Jewishness in the form of a certificate from the Consistoire de Paris.
My veritable fucking _gales_ of laughter will be heard even in England,
    on 12 July.

To answer your question, each and every Jew has the Right of Return.

I understand addiction only too well and cutting back on my coffee
    intake will present no problems.

Obviously teaching is an easily transferable skill but how much say do
you get in where you get to live.

Cut out bread, pasta and potatoes for eight weeks. That'll do it.

Israel is a parliamentary democracy which affords civil rights and
freedom of movement to all of its citizens.

As such, I can live wherever the **** I choose. Right now, it looks
like it'll be Samaria, as I have relatively positive contacts with a
school there (the head will be in Paris this month, and we're planning
    to meet).
