Late June or Sept are the best times to go. You can almost guarantee that
the higher passes will be snow free and the roads are relatively quiet.

July & August just get too hot to be comfortable. Although, in Switzerland
& the Black Forest it was sweltering in June last year.

I was wondering if you'd be interested in this trip.

  3. You could bet against it having 31 days.

Yes. Subject to leg endurance trials when it gets warm enough.

I sent you an email about 15 minutes ago

I suppose you want someone to herd the slow group?

I've just worked out that it could be fully financed by giving up
    ciggies.

    Other resolutions:

Do the RBR properly for a change.

Do more than 11 miles on the CBX this year.[1]

Get a qualification in my field of work.

    Pass my cage driving test.

    So, not much then.

[1] Are we "doing" Chimay this year, or the German one?

Can we do the one at Spa instead?

    Good oh.
I'll be assuming that everyone is a grown up, and knows how to get
from A to B. I'll also be assuming that everyone takes personal
responsibility for their own enjoyment, and doesn't expect it to be
provided by anyone else. So, no, there should be no requirement for
    any herdsmen.

Virgin's nntp server is dicky this evening. Their SMTP is probably doing
the same. I'll resend from gmail - to the adress at the top of this post

Aye, it was pretty damned good (and 2005). It was mainly due, I think,
to the similar outlooks on riding that we three gixxer riders had. No
prisoners, but no point going stupidly fast on straight roads.
Twisties were most definitely where it was at. But I think it'd be
quite a rarity to find a group of such evenly-matched riders, both in
terms of ability and stupidity ;-)
You'll have to find someone else to go with, I'm afraid. Tempting as
it may be, it's exactly the sort of riding we were doing on that trip
    that lead to my near-demise.

I'd quite fancy doing one with the R36, although I think driving to
and from the UK just for a track day may be a bit much.

heh. But Ginge being on a different pace was never an issue. If this
plan comes together, it'll probably be a larger group - currently 15
interested, so it'll most likely come down to 6~10.
Sure. There will be some slower people here, but it's always seemed
to me that you know your own mind in this regard, and I wouldn't
insult you by trying to persuade you to change it.
