Oddly I'm having a bit of a cleansing of old shite at the moment and found about 30 Biggles books in a box in the garage. I started to read a couple, but got a bit fed up. In Biggles in Africa he beat up a 'native' for being cheeky to him... Those were the days...

It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the Might not be instantly addictive for some, but from personal experience I can tell you the second time I tried it nasally, I didn't get anything like the effect I got the first time. I can see how many people are always chasing the first hit - that way lies the road to addiction. I've not bothered my arse with it since. Even speed palled after a while; generally feeling shite is enough to put you off. Fortunately, I seem to have a built-in aversion therapy for these things, given that I feel shite for days afterwards and the memory of that is greater than the euphoria of the actual drug. -- Dave GS 850 x2 / SE 6a SbS#6 DIAABTCOD#16 APOSTLE#6 FUB#3 FUB KotL OSOS#12? Nigel Eaton wrote My school library had the complete set. Considered appropriate reading for any properly brought up young lad they were and I went to a *very* progressive technical school.
My prep school had them all as well. They were considered what we'd call "politically correct" now, which is a bit of a laugh when you think about it.
You've cut down on the booze, then? Or is it just that you sleep later? Tell us something we didn't know.
But isn't that the case with anything. It's a fact of like that you can only experience something for the first time once... -- Please add "imo" to above post. Champ GSX-R 1000, GPz 750 turbo, ZX7RR Endurance Racer x 2 GYASB#0 BotToS#2 BOTAFO(T|F)#35 WG*#1 DFV#8 Team UKRM Racing : www.team-ukrm.com

Read a couple of Howard Jacobson books recently. Rather literate, and might be up your street. "Coming from Behind" was his first novel, and I quite enjoyed it, but "Who's Sorry Now" is his most recent in paperback, and a fair bit more involved. I also read "The Wasp Factory" recently (having read most of Banks other non-M work, I thought I'd better read the first one). I was amused that some of the reviews included in the opening pages were very negative. Anyway - kolly good, and if it wasn't actually disturbing, it was certainly somewhat disquieting. -- Please add "imo" to above post.
