Having had a 100% success rate with last year's, I'm on a roll.

One of this year's is to read a book a week. I'm aware that I haven't
been reading much in the last 6 months, and it's something I want to
    rectify.

So I need a list of 52 books that I haven't read. Well, I need about
45, really, since I've a few ready to go here, and I'll need to time
to get the new ones ordered and delivered. I want to get them all at
the beginning, and if I race through them all early I'll give myself a
    early-finishing award.

So, I throw myself on your suggestions (no goblins or spaceships,
    please).

Ben Blaney emerged from their own little world to say
John Sergeant's autobiography "Give me ten seconds". He had a much more
varied career than I expected. Well written and often very funny.

ITYM Notes from a Small Island. It was ok but largely spoiled for me
by Bryson's insistence on banging on about his political agenda
    (heritage preservation).

Notes from a Big Country is a far superior Bryson book IMHO which
    genuinely amused me.

Did you get hold of copies of "In Dubious Battle" and "Log from the Sea
of Cortez" (both Steinbeck)? If you didn't, get to it.
