    XT660Z Tenere.

Picked it up at lunchtime today and I've only done about 12 miles on
it so I've not really got a clue what it'll be like longer term.

First impressions are that it's comfortable to ride, the seat's a long
way off the floor, the suspension's very soft and the brakes are
    weedy.

The plan is that it'll replace the BMW for rallies and other winter
foolishness and the KTM for lower speed entertainment. I'll take it
for a bit of gentle green laning once it's got a few more miles on it
and some more serious abuse on snow early next year.

Anybody want to buy a BMW K100 outfit?

Yamaha describe it as 'Yamaha Racing White'.

White with red speedblocks and a couple of grey panels.

  8. Effing stepladders on both shoes, more like. I so nearly bought one, so
I'll be interested to HAGM on Andy's, but it's the tallest bike I've
    ever sat on.

both feet were a couple of inches from the floor when I sat on it and
Ogden's not much taller than me.

I'll probably take it on the next French trip and you'll be more than
    welcome to have a go.

I think you claim to have the same inside leg as me (32" or thereabouts)

Was there also an elefantentreffen write-up in MAD magazine? Only Alfred
    E. Neuman seems to be hanging around in the background.

    Ha ha.
I still look considerably younger than you.

Do you want to buy the outfit then?

Heh, I could toes down on each side, it's just slightly taller than

What *is* the point in making a bike so tall?

    A) So that normal-sized people don't have to feel cramped all the
    time.
    B) To give enough ground clearance and suspension travel.

    **** 'em.
That should have little effect on seat height.
