New (to me) bits on RTA website.

    Hi folks.

During a discussion at Pie in the Sky, involving various motorcycles
weights and power figures, someone mentioned this section of the RTA
    website.

    http://ols2.rta.nsw.gov.au/rvd/sear...38KbxiObO0MaxeOe4zNp65In5WL?submitValue=start

It seems to list somewhat more realistic weight figures, and slightly
lower power figures for the Striple.

It is also useful for those bikes where the sales blurb has N/A for the
    power output bits.

Sorry if you all knew this before.

    regards,

That doesn't work, but it's reasonably easy to get to somewhere you
can search from the error page.

I see they accept Guzzi's word for the power and weight of the Norge.
I do wonder which variant is 13kgs heavier than the others... Must be
the GTL but who'd have thought a topbox, a satnav, and a little motor
for the screen would weigh that much!

(I see the V7 classic weighs 20kg less and has about the same HP as my
    850T. Ah Guzzi....)

Could we please not make any references to V7 Classics?

I think it is a gorgeous machine, sensible engineering, and want one,
but, then I think of the silly price tag, and the fact that I don't
actually have a use for it..... :-|

I feel the same way. I think "why am I commuting on a 1200?"

But then I think "But if I was using the V7 most of the time the Norge
would be neglected and can't have that!"

Of course I realise that Moike. :)

Unfortunately, I do have a slightly practical side, and I also know that
a V7 wouldn't fit in the garage properly, with the BM, the Triumph and
    the Honda.

The days when I had four bikes in the garage only worked 'cos I had a
    slim 125, a slim 250 and a slim 600....and the tiny Honda.

Still, this slight element of practicality does have its good points.

Lately, I have had strange thoughts about wanting to have a car again,
but, the fact that I have no place to actually keep a car has helped me
    resist this temptation.

Getting back to the wee Guzzi, tho. I can resist the temptation while
the dealer price is still high. I suspect I can resist it, even if the
dealer price drops a good bit. But I dunno what will happen when, in a
year or two, V7s start appearing second hand.

Oh I know what you will do.

You will keep it in my garage alongside my other 2 Guzzis. As you
don't commute anymore and so it might not get much riding, I can help
    with that.

    I don't think that's all that likely a scenario.

Since I don't work any more, I have all five weekdays free for riding,
and the big bike which might not see a lot of road use is more likely to
    be the Triumph Striple.
