In my defence, the last time I asked was 2 years ago. Tbh I don't want
contacts, the mere thought of having something resting on my eyeball
makes my stomach churn.

No fucking way. Normal ops are fine, but I have an aversion to
newfangled technological advances like laser surgery on eyes.

Dolland and Aitchinson have always done a good job for me.

 

As with anything, it's generally down to the people at the branch.

 

D&A are fucking awful people to deal with, I get my contacts abroad but as
it had been a while had my eyes tested by D&A at the start of this year,
ordered 6 months of dailys based on the new prescription and nearly
crashed first time out, I had terible problems for two days before giving
up and going back to my old lenses. I saw my optician in DK in July this
year, she had a hissy fit about D&A and upon checking my prescription
itturned out it should never have been changed, she suggested they were a
back street company that should be closed down.

Wimp - You cannot feel daily contacts, and they are so easy to put in it
takes a few seconds,I normally put mine in sitting on the bog first thing
in the morning (multi-tasking)and often wear them 18 hours plus with no
issues, they can be a bit of a shit after 48 hours, but what do you expect?
and I have an astigmatism in both eyes.

The only possible downside is I tend to open my visor for roundabouts, and
lost a contact one morning as a consequance.

 

I just wear Focus Dailys, (-6L -7R) I have no issues, and I an astigmatism
in both eyes.

There are however some new contacts (not sure about over here yet) that
are the equivelant to varifocals for older gits like myself, however I
have not tried them, these may indeed be weighted.

The question of me getting contacts is academic anyway, they can't
correct my double visison with contacts.

 

Having been married to an Optom and knowing a few others this was my
opinion. Now I've met a couple of people who are very pleased with it
though. The net is littered with warnings so I suppose one would need to
find an individual clinic or practitioner with a 99.xx% success rate, which
is what Carrie did.

 

They're probably not. They weren't when I was there, more's the pity.

If that's the case, then *I* should be getting offers of sex every ten

Yup, however I can never remember my full prescription, in fact it is all
I can do to get them in the correct eyes some mornings even though I
check them first, and you have not lived until you have put them both in
then realise they are inside out.
