Then you go to a web site, known as a tracker, which will have indexes of torrents. You download the .torrent file for a particular download, fire it up, and it'll start downloading the file for you. Anyone with a full copy of the file acts as a 'seed' (obv. the originator has to seed at first), anyone downloading is a 'leech' If you leech without seeding (or sharing), some sites will enforce a ratio and stop you downloading any more torrents. isohunt.com is a tracker of trackers. Most of them are being shut down pretty bloody quickly, but there are still some good ones about. UKNova for tv stuff, empornium.us for filth, and btefnet.net for stuff. It's handy.
