  1. In uk.rec.motorcycles, Grimly Curmudgeon amazed us all with this pearl
    of wisdom:
Ah, righto. Thanks for clearing that up.
    That'll never work :)

You're mistaking "whining" with "slagging you off", you pathetic
hypocrite. By the way, posting a url is considered ADVERTISING.
As you don't allow it in your forum, you might want to read the
FAQ for this newsgroup and then **** off.

No problem, not as if you'll be able to understand it anyway :)

In fairness, if you read the posts in this group you'll see people
helping each other out everyday and often putting themselves out to do
    so.

Except it's not a commercial posting - he's not selling anything.
So I'm not sure this would actually back you up...

    Andy Bonwick composed the following;:
I like the last line ..

"Remember these rules, treat others like you want to be treated and all will
    be fine."

So, if you don't mind spam, being talked to like a child, swearing, farting,
sexual deviancy and want to be treated like anyone's plaything/doormat/slave
etc you can basically post as and when and how you want, it seems.

Nice to see a forum with lots of traffic though .. ;)

Generally accepted that discussing the pros and cons of someone's
thought or behaviour is not the same as being judgmental about them as a
    person.

    I wondered if you'd not get it - basically you're a perfectly
straight -aced, decent chap - ie you're the only one left who'd fit in with
    the rules listed out above.

The fact that you're gay, but not 'contravening' any other rules would cause
it to have a little logic wobble and come crashing down.

So basically, it was a round about compliment to you, combined with a dig at
    the rather draconian rules implied.
