New mod to the Blackbird

  1. Stuck a double bubble on it yesterday. Makes a hell of a difference. Like
being in a cocoon. Worth every cent (which wasn't much because it had a couple
of small scratches so got it for $50 instead of $275.) Another one of those
bits of bike gear that is highly recommended.

Also got a Dri-rider tank bag. Can't say I am a huge fan of it. Feels wierd
riding with something between your arms. It does fit all my waterproof gear in
it however so will be good to grab when it looks like it might rain.

  3. I think it might be a power bronze or an eagle. It's the iridium jobby. I've
been quoted for $150 for the same thing before from eagle but at the bike shop
(read ripoff merchants) they were priced at $275.

be careful about getting grit between the tank bag and the tank.
    scratches galore.

Hmm. If I get one of these, even if scratched it'd be in better nick than the
    rest of the boike...
That's what I like about the Ventura seat bag that I have. Four clips and it's
on. Also have a sports rack and bag on the back that I keep my wet weather stuff
in. I use the seat bag as my work bag, whether riding or driving to work.

Looking at mods, I'd go for the following:

    1. VFR bars
    2. Double bubble
    3. Titanium 4 into 1 exhaust
    4. Remove centre stand (for a total of around 20 kg weight loss)
    5. Speedo Healer
    6. This spacer gizmo that alters the bike's rear suspension geometry -
    supposedly makes it quicker turning.
    7. Gel seat pad.

Then, maybe, the ten minute ride to work might be a bit more comfortable...

    :)

A device that cost around $150 or so that sits in between your speedo sensor and
the (electronic) speedo instrument. It corrects any errors to allow for an
    accurate speedo.

A cheaper alternative and one that has more functions, is a bicycle trip
computer, that when calibrated correctly is pretty accurate.

www.sigmasport.com is one mob that makes them.
