    Hi,
I have noticed that there a lot of people selling these small 49cc mini
bikes, (both race style and chopper style) these bikes are the same cc as
some of the scooters and have even been branded as scooters, My question is
are these bike legal to ride in vic on the road, footpath or bike track? as
they are similar to a scooter?

They have lights, indicators and Speedo, could they be registered as a bike
or are there cc limitations and brand limitations as to what you can and
    can't register?

I remember someone once saying that you don't have to register a bike under
    50xx or something like that?

and pardon my ignorance regarding this.

    Thanks

Over 200watts, illigal no ADR anyway
As per aove, they are a private-property only toy, good fun all the same
    have on one loan
    Its <200 watts
The quality control is all over the place though [typical of China]

If they are registered, then they are legal on the road, but not on
    footpath of bike track.
The limitations are complience with ADRs. A whole string of ADR's.

AFAIK there is no capacity limit (officially) but I suspect that much
below 50cc would not be approved.
Power output upto 200watts is free-ish.....

    Have a look at http://www.scootoz.com.au/

Some of these bikes can, and have been registered.
