I found a bar that will fit my hands better than the stock bar on my
Honda GL650. It's a GL1100 replica. The original bar is knurled at the
clamp points. The new bar isn't. I wonder if I should get the new one
    knurled before I use it?

I clamped down the new bar and gave is a good test. It wouldn't rotate
in the clamp no matter how hard I tried. Given the corrosion
possibility, I think it will be just fine the way it is.

    Thanks,

  3. You could always shim it with beer can stock as suggested
in Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. Be sure to
    use metric beer.

A beer can to fix my classic Honda? Why, I think I should be insulted!
