We've just finished anuver DVD so we figured you'd like to see some of it. Thankfully Disturbing The Peace.co.uk are hosting it for us as the people whose name actually appears on the cover are too fuckin' incompetent to have a decent website that allows them to host their own files... Anyway, enjoy: www.disturbingthepeace.co.uk/streetfighters-se7en.co.uk -- Veggie Dave UKRMHRC#2 BOTAFOF#08 IQ 18 FILMS http://www.iq18films.com Extreme Racing http://www.veggie-dave.co.uk Toxic Shock Syndrome Gets More Girls Than Me
Yehbut, the way that Veggie has edited the clip makes it gripping stuff. Even if you've seen the stunts 1001 times before, he presents it as if it's never been done before. IMO, of ocurse. Oh, and did I say, that the music *rocks*.
The entire thing is edited in the same style, although it's in themed sections rather than 55 minutes of random images thrown at you at high speed While I'm obviously somewhat biased, I do believe we present the stunt/fighter/motard world in a slightly different way to everybody else - and I guarantee that you haven't seen everything on the DVD when you've only seen it once. I think, put simply, our stuff if far more re-watchable than anything else out there What we've tried to do is make stuff that appeals to bikers in general rather than stunt fans but still leaving it enjoyable for the stunters, too, which for the most part I think we've succeeded in doing And it's definitely better than working for a living... -- Veggie Dave UKRMHRC#2 BOTAFOF#08 IQ 18 FILMS http://www.iq18films.com Extreme Racing http://www.veggie-dave.co.uk Toxic Shock Syndrome Gets More Girls Than Me
Unfortunately, I'm in agreement with you. I *really* enjoyed watching the footage of Christian Pfeiffe (sp?) at the championships, as the whole display was so fluid it was like watching a kind of automotive ballet. This particular video seems to be of another series of formulaic wheelies with a crunching metal soundtrack, edited specifically to try and make something exceptional from the relatively mundane (I appreciate the skill in pulling the stunts, but wish they'd do something _new_). The usual IQ18 fare, in other words. But I'm sure Veggie wouldn't give a toss about my reaction to it, I somehow doubt I'm the target market (I'd have been tugging off to it if I was 17, no doubt, but not ten years later), and it seems to be just you and I who weren't impressed. And that probably says more than anything.
And once more we owe you another favour -- Veggie Dave UKRMHRC#2 BOTAFOF#08 IQ 18 FILMS http://www.iq18films.com Extreme Racing http://www.veggie-dave.co.uk Toxic Shock Syndrome Gets More Girls Than Me
We don't sell 'em - you need Streetfighters for that You never know, they may actually update their webpage and put the DVD on there ... but don't hold your breath... -- Veggie Dave UKRMHRC#2 BOTAFOF#08 IQ 18 FILMS http://www.iq18films.com Extreme Racing http://www.veggie-dave.co.uk Toxic Shock Syndrome Gets More Girls Than Me
Actually, I do The sort of footage you're referring to, with riders like Pfeiffer, Ribeiro, Farias etc. is edited quite slowly so that you get to see them in the way you should - obviously edited to the relevant music - whereas the high-speed silly stuff is edited in the same way that it's performed Just because other vids only have one editing style and one editing speed, don't assume that every DVD is the same. Fair enough, 99% actually are, but we ain't like everyone else. And also pretty obviously, you'll never please all of the people all of the time, but we at least seem to entertain more non-stunt fans than anyone else, nor does it stop us trying Oh, and I have to tell someone... We (Tim and I) went for a few beers with the organiser of the Czech World Stunt Championship round (which, in my opinion is the only true World comp as Donington was a fuckin' joke) when Pfeiffer and Farias joined us for a wee dram. As I had a couple of DVDs with me, I gave one to Christian and one to Kim (from Arian van Zweden) - Farias already owns all of our stuff. Anyway, Pfeffeir checks out the cover then asks if it's any good. At this point Sammi Mackenen (sp?) (one of the pioneers of modern stunting and an absolute God) leans over and tells him it's the best stunt film he'll ever see. The whole night rocked, but that one comment made all the shit and all the problems worth while because I was surrounded by stunt gods who viewed us as film makers in the same way we view them riders. It probably means nothing to everyone else, but I was on Cloud 9... -- Veggie Dave UKRMHRC#2 BOTAFOF#08 IQ 18 FILMS http://www.iq18films.com Extreme Racing http://www.veggie-dave.co.uk Toxic Shock Syndrome Gets More Girls Than Me
The organisation and rules were utter bollocks, leaving riders like Farias in lowly places because of a flag! It had less to do with riding talent and more to do with rule conformity. Is that a good thing? Well, what we put into four minutes thirty seconds of video most people would get a full 60 minute video out of. I'm really not joking... Myself and Nik shoot absolutely everything, yes -- Veggie Dave UKRMHRC#2 BOTAFOF#08 IQ 18 FILMS http://www.iq18films.com Extreme Racing http://www.veggie-dave.co.uk Toxic Shock Syndrome Gets More Girls Than Me
I couldn't tell if you meant what we do is becoming the norm or what we do should be how everyone else should try and do it Er, I'm all confused now 'cos I have no idea what I'm talking about... -- Veggie Dave UKRMHRC#2 BOTAFOF#08 IQ 18 FILMS http://www.iq18films.com Extreme Racing http://www.veggie-dave.co.uk Toxic Shock Syndrome Gets More Girls Than Me
