new free news server

I need a bit of help, please.

I've registered with X-privat.org
They have confirmed registration and all seems ok there
I've opened a/c news.x-privat.org in my reader (Outlook Express. Yep, I
know smarter people than me don't like it, but it works for me - until now)
I downloaded the list of ng's available and subscribed to a few
when I select a newsgroup, I get an error message:
"480 you don't have access to this group, see http://www.x-privat.org for
more explanation
Configuration: Account: news.x-privat.org"

I can't see where I may have mucked it up. Any suggestions from the
interweb-aware people?

did they give to a username and password??
if so you will have to put if in the account properties under the "servers"
tab
