    Hey all,

I have recently come accross a new company selling dirtbikes, and I'm
wondering if anyone has heard of them...

Their website is a http://www.moto-x.net/ but they are based in
Victoria. And the sire redirects to
    http://www.motox.com.au/page/page/2127092.htm ...

The bikes look good, and reasonably priced, but I'm not sure if anyone
has had any dealings with them.

I am certainly interested in one of the 250s that they have on sale but
would like the group's expert opinion...

Thanks for your help in advance,

    KD

A mate of mine bought one of their bikes from Ebay, and had nothing but
praise for it. As I know there are lots of crap machines out there, I
wanted to see if anyone else had heard of them...

I actually think it was the 200 rather than the 250..

As to experts, perhaps this is the wrong forum, but I do thank you for
    your help...

  7. One problem here for you is that I don't think there's one person in this
group that is interested in unregisterable trailbikes. Those that do have
dirtbikes at all still ride the things on the road. An unregisterable bike
    has very little usefulness overall.

    Find someone who cares.

Somewhere on the site it said they were OK for "recreaational
registration" which I think means the Vic scheme.

There are steps being taken to get such a thing in NSW, but I wouldn't
buy a bike hoping it will happen.

I want to know how ABS is supposed to help a dirtbike. And how reliable
it will be given the price point.

They are registerable in Victoria under the recreational registration scheme
which doesn't need a compliance plate.

We bought a smaller 110cc version of one of these chinese bikes for
Jacob and he's given it hell... it's been crashed (inumerable times),
flipped (many times) and it's still going.

It hasn't been without issues, but they aren't motor related... the nuts
and bolts are cheese metal and keep coming loose (we replace them with
nylock ones as they do), and the air filter was rubbish so it now has a
foam one on it. The chain was cheap and wore out so we put a different
    chaine on it.

Even with those issues it's still been mostly reliable and at the price
point (about $1200 new) nothing from the jap manufacturers was an option.

The 200/250 ones look interesting and I wouldn't mind one for a run
around (I live in the country so rec reg is a viable option).

Yeah, it's spam... but it is at least _relevant_ spam... even if you
    aren't personally interested :)

    Yes....

It's no less off topic than the huge NSW related Old Road 60kph threads
that us interstaters have been skipping past Al (seriously).

Various chinese companies do Honda CT50, CT70, CT110 engine knock offs,
    also XR200/250 engine knock offs.

Others make PY50, PY80 copies... haven't looked closely enough at the
one in the post to tell if it's a honda knock off or a yammy knock off.

  16. I've been skipping it too, no relevance to me either. The Old Road is not
that great a road to worry about. Make it 40kmh as far as I'm concerned.

No such thing as an unregisterable bike if you're determined....
