It is completely the reverse, the trick is to make it so efficient that
it can do the job of a tankful of petrol with just 3 AA cells and a
subspace connection to a wormhole in Ursa Minor. Plugging a pallet
sized battery pack into the mains may be a step on the way.

This has mostly happened since you left school as it goes.

A bit like phonus mobillieye. Wormholes are good but attract resulting
tears in the time/space continuum. I have a feeling there may be a
solution in one of the many alternate universes but there's a bubble in
my fishtank which is a bit of a bastard so that's put the kybosh on
    that.
I don't know what you mean, really.

School was good, every day was a learning experience. I don't mind
learning but once the hang is got it all becomes a bit mundane.

This is all bollocks. Compressed air is the way forward, with funky
    articulated conrods and quick refuelling.

    There are many and varied.

I once dreamt up this idea that flying insects, particularly houseflies
were sent down by the alien races to spy on us but annoying the hell out
of us at the same time. A sort of robot controlled microscope if you
will. I also remember saying I wished I was a plant because plants
    didn't do drugs.

    Hmmmm.......

Yup, nice reciprocating engine instead of all those nasty whiny electric
    things too.

  13. And a wind genny on the roof, of course. Not forgetting the motor-driven
alternator to charge the battery as you're using it.

Not neccessarily: especially not on "Victorian" arched supports with a
yellow box either side - they're SPECS or I'm a Dutchman.

They're the ones they've got either side of Cannon St tunnel on Upper
Thames St. Either end of 150m of road.

Look for the 'M' on the support.

Well as a local & regular user of this road (I drove down it last night) I
can categorically confirm that they are indeed the dreaded SPECS cameras.
(I've seen plenty on my travels down South, especially on the M6 near Brum).

For information, heading South, the first set is near the junction of
Coodham House/Dundonald turn-off, the next set at Symington & the third near
the bottom of the hill after Hansel Village.

I think it is ludicrous that they are on a straight bit of dual-carriageway
(where there have been a number of serious accidents & deaths due to the
road design - ie. coming out of Symington you have to cross two sets of
fast-flowing traffic on the carriageway to head South), a much better
solution would be a roundabout which would be dual-purpose, it would allow
access/egress from the village & also slow the traffic down.

But no, just let the speeders thrash on and lets make money from them, never
mind trying to solve the underlying problem!

They were going to build a roundabout at Symington. But I've heard that the
plans have changed and that they will now be building a flyover at one end
    of Symington village.
