OK....i have an SP1 and just had a go on one of them
new blade's and was impresed. Used to have blades
all the time before the SP now i am tempted again,
thing is they dont half want some extra cash for one.

My SP1 which has done 10k, and £3.8 for a new one,
i know there is a demand but fucks sake it aint worth that
much, hell i cant ride the arse off what i have let alone
a new blade even with a lighter pocket.

I wonder if anyone is doing a reasonable deal on them yet?

    Any idea's peeps?

  2. Newly launched bike and it's Spring - I think not. Wrong time of the
year for bargains on 04 models - especially power ranger wheels.

What's so odd about that? My GSXR1000 is only 2 years old and has 6k
miles on it, yet if I wanted to trade if for a new GSXR1000 the cost
to change would be somewhere around the 4 grand mark.

  4. Nobody really wants SP1s, or the VTR1000, come to that.

Their residual values are low. I think it's a fair trade-in offer.

It just boggles my imagination why anyone would want to buy a brand new

You mean you want a dealer that will discount further on the basis that you
can't ride very well? Let me know when you find one.

  7. So buy a 2003 model. OK, it won't be the latest model, but if you can
really appreciate and use the difference between a 2003 and 2004 model
Blade, you're a better rider than I am.

WTF are you going on about?

    I've just said I'd not buy a brand new model; I wouldn't buy a 2003
model either, not until at least 2006. I did say the depreciation hit
    would be too much.

    Christ, I need a shag!

I think it all depends on what bike you buy and when.

I certainly agree with you that I wouldn't queue up to pay list price on the
latest machine that PB tells me that I _must_ have, but when I bought my
bike I got such a good deal on it that it really wasn't worth fucking about
    with the 2nd hand market.

Plus, of course, when you buy new you know exactly what you're getting; the
bike you want, in the colour you want. There's also what you're not getting
.... no alarms wired in by colour-blind twats, nothing that has been raced,
no scuffs or scrapes, no home maintained bikes that have been lovingly cared
for by somebody whose entire toolkit is a hammer and a 1" chisel, etc.

Really? That's a shame - it's an excellent bike, but then again I
    suppose the exclusivity just adds.

Just the impression I got. It seems to me, and I think I'm wrong on
this, is that if you want to earn decent money and do decent hours (like
not more than 8 a day) you have to get an ejukashun.

I did the least possible to scrape through school and even today I tend
to take the line of least resistance.

I wrongly believed/believe that my fortune will land in my lap without
too much effort on my part. I know this is bollax because I had more
cash when I was working - albeit to tired to spend it.

I was utterly useless at school and left the education system at the
earliest opportunity. I accidentally got a job as a tape monkey and
found that I had an aptitude for these new fangled computer things.

I reckon that if you want to learn something, you will.

Aye. Trying something I've never even considered would be a good
    starting point I reckon.
