    Hi,

I have been car driving for 25 years, and am now wishing to buy a
small motorbike. Purely for economy of commuting, and the need to take
my daughter to College every day as a pillion passenger (journey about
    15 miles).

I am considering a 2003 Honda CG125, but have only just started to
    look into it all.

What do I need to do to be able to legally carry my daughter as a
passenger? My driving licence is full (and clean!) but I guess for
cars only, as that is what I have always only driven. Do I need to
pass a bike test before I could take the bike on the road etc. or can
I drive it with L plates still for a while (and if so for how long?).
    If I have L plates I guess I cannot take a passenger?

    Thanks for any advice/information.

You will need a full motorcycle licence to carry a pillion passenger.

You'll need a full bike license for that - you're not allowed to take a
    pillion if you're a learner.

Thanks Cane. If I had a moped or, well, a 50cc bike, would I then need
a full motorcycle licence? Also, and sorry if this is a silly
question, can mopeds be bought which have a pillion seat?
