Just thought someone might be intrested in my new toy :))
Actually it`s going to be a sort of test bed for more radical tuning like
dropping in the Maico lump when I can find a machine shop with the facility
to CNC me a mating crank without asking really stupid money for the job :-/
In the mean time I thought I`d build it up and have a laugh racing Dave who
has wholesale "adopted" (read as stolen) the other lil` red sprinter.
Latest speed test results are 100yrds (the length of the carpark;-) at an
    estimated speed of 20ish mph.
Weather permitting I`m testing it at Santa Pod this Sunday to see what it
does,if it goes in a straight line and just how noisy a two stroke exhaust
is at full revs when it`s less than two feet from your head.

Is that right, with the exhaust pointing forward and all? It`s a feature of the bike designed to keep all the weight foward of the
rear wheel to stop wheelies and aid aerodynamics at speeds above 1700fps.

Actually it works fine at the moment, the tail "stinger" curves down and
back and it`s slash cut so the gas comes out backwards. If I have an issue
with it "blowing back" up the pipe I`ll just add an extention piece to
    exagerate the curve.
If you look at some scooter exhaust designs they have the muffler facing
fowards and a similar tail stinger pointing sort of backwards. For the ease
of making and to get the tuned length correct I wanted to keep it as
    straight as possible.

Hmmm. I think you need a few lessons yet.

    The important bit.

If you can find it there was loads of research done by the Model
Aircraft Speed brigade many years ago. They came up with some simple
sums and rules of thumb which may be useful. Although it would have
been at speeds 5 or 6 times faster than you are likely to achieve so the
detail may not hold. The basic principles should be right though.

The 1700 feet per second bit was a joke however it is used in Jennings`
equation to get the tuned length of a pipe.
Vs x Eo/N where Vs=1700, Eo is the exhaust port open time in degrees and N =
    rpm.
I found a nice java applet that gives a model of the pipe if you input your
data and it`s fairly close to the end result using the whole of Jennings`
formula, this was from a model aircraft site.
    Ain`t google wunerful:))

    Yep! Fully road legal;-)

How else are the guys in the tower over the start line going to know who did
    that run?
Also helps when you have to ask for the timing slips from the previous runs.
It just say`s Blue Dwarf on it.

    I`m good, thanks for asking.
I must stop building bikes and other weird projects and get off my arse to
actually meet some people for a change.
Part of the problem is I gave up drinking last June (nothing medical/major,
just for a bet) and hav`nt had the time to start boozing again.I must make
more of an effort to start drinking more this summer.
Sig sep`s got me flummoxed, looks ok on my screen but could be an Outlook
    prob.
