Well, it isn't, but it sure as hell feels like one.

No more wiggles. Suspension that suspends. Forks, instead of
marshmallows. A front brake that feels like a brake. The rear could do
    with another bleed, tbh.

    <self-satisfied grin>

    Woohoo!

Good init? That smug feeling, that you _know_ everything is done just right.

Steady on, old chap - I wouldn't go that far.

I didn't have *too* many bolts left over, either. :)

No. It's a special tool jobbie. While the wheel was out and the shocks
were off, I gave it a good old wiggle in all directions: free movement
in the directions it should move, and no play whatsoever in directions
    it shouldn't
I'd love to help, but I've none left.
    Oh, goodie.

<sits down, grabs four weeks' supply of popcorn>

It always gave my grandad some satisfaction that he could make Ford cars run
on less parts than Ford could. There were always a couple of bits left over.

Cars were all made that way up until quite recently.

Mate at work once took his Cortina into Kwikfit for a new exhaust.

Took ages to get it off.

Turned out it was a Granada exhaust.

He'd owned the car from new.

To cap it all, he was told that Cortinas and Granadas weren't even
made in the same factory, at the time.

  12. Yesterday, my pug decided to stop idling. The moment the revs dropped to
tickover, it stalled (which made pulling up at junctions fun, balancing
all three pedals at the same time with only two feet, and parking up at
Heathrow's multi-storey last night was fun with the power steering
cutting out every time I got it wrong.)

The solution? To have the ECU reset.

30 quid to have my FI "rebooted" ? Sod progress, give me carbs. This
progress ain't all it's cracked up to be.

It would have been later than that - he's even younger than me.

    Hard to imagine, I know.
