A few months back I asked on here about a CCM for my uncle.
Well it turns out that I know of one going for £1500 to £2000. I'm going to
look at it soon so I'll know more. Its a 2003 644 dual sport.

Is it worth me buying it and then selling it in spring for a bit of profit?
I can't afford it for myself, but if I can make some money on it then its a
way back into sportsbike heaven. Most places are selling them for £3.5K.

Linger was seen penning the following ode to ... whatever:
You mean - most places are *advertising* them for 3.5k. I'd be a bit
wary of trying to buy a bike like this solely for potential profit as
the bike market may not be getting much better in the new year.

  3. Especially as CCM has hit the skids once already.

OK, I'm quite wary but CCM's are bitsa bikes so parts aren't an issue.
I just want something to sell on to make a profit and this one is very
    cheap.
However it is being auctioned at a place that specialise in house
    clearances.
So this is either a bike from a dead bloke or a repossession from a finance
    company.
I'll know on Tuesday when I view it. So there could be problems with HPi.

I've not had to fall back on them yet, but the nearest CCM dealer I can find
that isn't Metropolis were saying a month or 2 ago that all the parts are
    easily obtainable.

Most of the bits are off-the-shelf bike parts, and the only CCM-specific
parts are the frame and a couple of odd bits of metalwork. The custom
plastics are still available from the original manufacturers, a lot of whom
are low-volume producers in the north-west.

CCM has apparently been re-born as an ultra-low volume specialist off-roader
    manufacturer -cum-parts supplier, too.

Consequently I'm in no rush to flog mine cos (a) I got it for a song,
considering and (b) it totally fucking rocks
