Negged for the Morini!

  1. Man's shown himself a **** for doing that without getting back to you
    first.
Probably a minor lug you'd never have noticed and which wasn't used for
    anything.

Yep, I got negged because the printer I was selling (brand new, still
in a factory sealed box) didn't have a USB-printer cable.

This despite the fact that in bold red (Arial, size 16 font at the top
of the listing description) I'd stated "this printer does NOT contain a
printer-USB cable"......I even helpfully provided a link where you
could order them for £0.99 with free delivery!

As my father-in-law says (but I don't understand it) "you can't educate
    pork"

  5. Very true, and if the buyer had half a clue he/she/it would have known
you don't get cables in the box these days.

He says the chain has broken at some time and taken a bit of the c/case
with it, but I don't think it can have been severe because there was no
leak and he didn't mention a bodged repair.

Also, one of the cover mounting lugs (he doesn't say which side, so I
assume right-hand as I only removed the left-hand cover) had been
damaged and sonmeone had attempted to fix it with glue or something and
had drilled through into the main crankcase and taped thread into that.

    *Boggle*

He's a bit peeved, but I've had to say that I wasn't responsible for
the bodging. It had a receipt for a full dealer rebuild and I went on
    that.

    Oh well.

  7. If you didn't see it, it must've only been visible from underneath or
    inside a cover.
Needs must type of repair, by the sound of it.
Ffs, it's not as if he paid rare classic money for it, the moaning
    bastard.

  9. that's what you get for taking yer bike to a dealer...

Mind, I've no doubt you would have bodged it the same :)

Ebay has had that option for at least a year:
(select period->12 months, then click negatives on the fb page)

You can do something similar with any browser that allows you to edit bookmarks or favourites and that has javascript.

It takes you to the toolhaus.org site and auto fills the neg finder form.

    Do this:
    ========
Create a favourite or bookmark of any page.

Find that bookmark and edit (properties).

Change the name to "eBay Find Negatives" or whatever you want.

For the URL remove whatever is there and use this line of javascript instead:

    javascript:if (document.getSelection) { var s = document.getSelection(); } else if (document.selection && document.selection.createRange) { var range = document.selection.createRange(); var s = range.text; } if(!s)void(s=prompt('Enter the Ebay Username whose Negative Feedback you want to check',''));if(s.length) parent.location.href='http://www.toolhaus.org/cgi-bin/negs?User=' + escape(s); else parent.location.href='http://www.toolhaus.org';

NOTE: The above is all one line so you may need to copy into notepad and edit it if your newsreader has mangled it.

    Close \ save bookmark.

Now whenever you see an ebay user name simply highlight the whole name (not the feedback score in brackets) and click or select your new 'eBay Negative Finder' bookmark.

This works great in Opera as you can insert any bookmark into the main toolbar for easy access.

You can use this from anywhere on the internet - so can, for example, check out an ebay user name that someone gives out on a forum outside of ebay...

  12. no it doesn't, or not here anyway. clicking on a trader gets you the
feedback page, but there's no way of viewing only negatives that I can see.

OK, hang on, I see what you mean. yes, it does as you said, but only for
    the last 12 months.
