    On the bike that is.

Went to take it to work this morning. Tried to push it off the
centrestand - stuck. Gave it a bigger push - still stuck. Hmm, calipers
have certainly got a bit tight this time.

Gave them a gentle tap and try to move front wheel. No go. Another tap.
Nope. And another. Nope. Give wheel a large tug with wife sitting on
the bike so it doesn't fall over.

Ah, there we go. Oh, hang on, what fell on the floor. Only a lump of
brake pad! Arse! That's what I call stuck calipers. Maybe it's just as
well it happened before I went anywhere.

I've only ever heard of corrosion actually taking the friction material
off on early ATE calliper BMW airheads. Do you live below the high tide
    mark?

  3. In uk.rec.motorcycles, gazzafield belched forth and ejected the
    following:
Twist a screwdriver between the disc and metal brake pad backing.

The brake pads on Bear's old R1 were delaminating, so I replaced them
with Vesrah JL sintered ones, which he quite liked IIRC.

Very same thing happened to the newish EBC pads on my F650 last year ... the
nice man from EBC replaced them FOC and gave me a free set of genuine brembo
    pads as a sweetener.

Nope, and not near the sea either. I just put it down to the amount of salt
shite thrown on our roads. It's also a Yamaha so they stick as a matter of
course IME. I've the bike two years and never touched the pads, lots of
motorway & DC miles, so maybe it was telling me it was time to get them
    changed. :)

  7. Smart move on his part. Much cheaper than your rellies suing the shite
    out of his company.
