Hi guys, I am a student frm India comin to the UK for my MSc in
Automotive Engineering. I am a car & bikes(especially bikes) enthusiast
and want to pursue my carrer in my passion.

I have got offer letters from few Universities which I will be listing
below, but my main concern is that which University is best suited to me
consedering my passion for fast bikes, their industrial
collaboration and involvement in the same and especially the quality of
education . I have gone through each and
every details of the Universities like their subjects, research
activities, etc but not able to make my mind as which one suites me
    perfectely.

I hope you guys can provide me valuable information about the
Universities so that I could make up my final decision.

    The Universities are:
    1. University of Leeds.
    2. University of Cranfield.
    3. University of Hertfordshire.
    4. University of Brighton and Sussex.

PS: Can anyone provide me email id's or any relevant information
regarding Graham Hodgson or Phil Newnham over in rec.autos.sport.f1
They're both postgrads from an Automotive Engineering course at
    Loughborough University

You think he was maybe accepted because of his money rather than his
    intellect?

  5. Dr Fleck et al?

Do they still have a TZ250 hanging in the engineering building?

This thread appeared on another forum. It mentions a BEng course but they do a
    MEng too.

Swansea University. Swansea is not the nicest of cities but Pembrey race cicuit
is nearby. Some of the best bking roads in the UK are just a few miles north.

Read the press release - one of their graduates just got a job in bike
    racing team.

It's not *that* bad. Lived there for quite a few years. The university
is good for science and engineering. If going into University
accomadation then the 'Hendrefoelan Student Village' is the place to get
    - it's a couple of miles uphill from the main campus, but the flats are
infinitely better than those on the main campus - plus it has it's own
    bar and takeaway :)

The town itself can be a bit iffy, but there's many worse places to be.
    Like London or Birmingham.

    That'd be near Sketty, yes?

I used to have to visit there and Fforest Fach regularly on business.
London is very pricey for accomodation. If I were a poor student I think
I'd prolly bite the bullet and go for the Welsh option. As for Birmingham,
    well, hmm.

I had a good client there, "The Colour Centre" which was quite a successful
trade decorators merchants. ISTR the area generally was a bit austere.

    It was?

Where was this place? - Certainly nowhere near where I lived. Unless
you're thinking of the around the tower blocks at Sketty Park.

It was a few years back.

I remember it was on a quite steep hill, amongst some 1930's semis built of
    dark grey stone.

    Ahhh, sounds like Townhill.

Very nasty place, been cleaned up a bit recently, but was, at one point,
the car crime capital of the UK.
