    NEED A CARBURATOR CHOKE PART
    FOR A 83-86 HONDA VT-500 SHADOW

    Picture is here:

    http://nm7u.tripod.com/homepage/want.html

It's the part in the yellow circle. Screws into
the side of the carb and the right-angle boot
slips over it. I have the gold tip piece and
can make the spring. I'd make the missing part out of
    a bolt, but it's 12mm x 1.0 thread and the bolt dealers
can't get 'em. The only threading die I found cost
more than the bike. Ideas welcome.
Maybe I'll have to buy the whole cable assembly.
    Whatchagot?

Also need a clutch lever for the same bike.

Probably will find that I need other parts as
I start putting this rebuilder back together.

    Thanks, mike
    return address is good

  2. Why don't you just use that lathe and whip one up out of plastic or
    aluminum?

That's the fallback position. That lathe doesn't cut threads.
Plastic will probably "cross thread" from a close SAE thread.
