  1. Hey I'm completely shocked by that result - not!

  2. Yes that certainly is terrifying. I would never have guessed that you
were pro the pound and willing to walk round giving John Redwood a big
    handshake in public.

  3. -8 Labour
    -30 Conservative
    +50 Lib Dems
    -3 UKIP
    +21 Green

I'm more worried about only -3 for the UKIP than I am on any of the
    rest.

The strange (or perhaps not) aspect is that there is very little about
management of the economy or other policy areas that I would be
    interested in.

    Somewhat suprising:

    Labour -21
Conservative -11 (more conservative than Labour!!!!! I think not)
    Liberal Democrat 41
    UK Independence 31 (What?!!?!)
    Green 16 oh, okay.

Although Lib Dem result comes as no suprise, I'm a little nonplussed
    about the others.
    I need to sit down.

You'd better be putting the GSX away then and getting the pushbike out.

    Can I have it?

Its view on opposition to the EU is clumsy as it counts it as a plus for
UKIP; it's also a left wing view.

However, none of the mainstream left of centre parties espouse it as a
policy it's unsurprising that it's attributed in the way it is.

What interests me is I think the results are loaded in favour of the LDs.

My perception, and a very unscientific study of people I know of via the
internet shows that the quantity of internet users supporting the libdem
view seems to outnumber those with other political leanings. Perhaps
it's just the fact they're well informed, or perhaps they are in fact
all freaks and misfits... You decide.

    I should vote Green apparently.

    Labour -21
    conservative -5
    Lib Dem 19
    UK Independent 19
    Green 27

    <Shrugs>

Seems as good a choice as any.

I've got this mental image of Charles Kennedy in the House of Commons
looking across to Blair and uttering "Oi, you... Out of my seat." Then
realising Blair was already in the correct seat.

The quicktime one has no seeds, but the other torrent's got 23
clips in it. I'll download it overnight and see what's up.

If the LibDems did win, would we have to have another election to
decide who has to sit in the shit seats off to the side?

When it said who do you think you'll get I thought it'd go Lib Dem but
    my instinct was Green.

Shows you should trust your instincts and it also shows what I know
    about politics.

One of the only times I've bet on a horse was in the Grand National

Heh, it fell at the first and had to be shot.

  17. Well I haven't had the pleasure, so to speak, but I was shocked to see a
piccie of him from the first round of the KRC racing. He looked too
young - I'd always imagined him to be a reactionary 50 year old with a
penchant for odd motorcycles. Just goes to show the dangers of creating
mental pictures of people from their posts.

I'm "anti" the euro because, with my admittedly limited grasp of economics,
it seems to be a right lash-up at the moment, and unlikely to get much better
now that the stability pact is being ignored

The "staying out of the euro will drive foreign investment away" argument is
bogus when many big businesses also have to buy and sell in dollars, and in
any case currency risks are entirely hedgeable-against at predictable cost -
and the "but it's so much easier when I go on holiday to Spain" argument is
    for fucking retards.

Politically with regard to the euro, I really couldn't give a toss, and aside
from that, I'm pretty much pro-EU. I think we've got a pretty good deal out
    of the current arrangements, TBH
