Whilst I would not denigrate the contribution made to the Allied
effort by the Free French and the Resistance, I fear that you have
forgtotten the contribution made by the Vichy lads. They did sterling
work for Uncle Adolf, didn't they?

So, that'll explain the "Iraqi resistance" of which we hear so much.
Wonder what they're up to now?

  6. Further back, in the 70s/80s, the German and French chemical industries
were quite happily selling pesticide plants to Iraq and Iran with the
full knowledge and blessing of their respective governments.
Pesticide plants which could easily be used to turn out nerve agents...

They didn't need Rumsfeld, they had good chemists of their own.

Average and World were the key words young man.
Germany didn't have great Imperialistic dreams outwith local living room and
strategic supplies in the way that Britain had. I'm imagining no Cold War
(the effects it had in Asia) and no Stalin Purges and no Middle East
problems, that kind of thing. Outwith the war dead the toll of the 'Camps
pales to what happened around the world later. Idle speculation but it has a
    point.

No cold war. The Nazis were never going to beat Russia.
No Stalin purges. Hitler purges instead!
No middle east problems. There have *always* been wars in the middle
    east
Dead people around the world later after WWII. Laaaaarge topic.....

Speculation leadsto interesting conversation so go for it ;-)

So why did they buy the Sarin and Anthrax from the States then?

I prefer to assume that Des is just a Troll. Nobody could be this gullible.

BTW, good resume of the JFK affair last night on BBC TV. Really straightened
a few things out. I've seen a lot of quotes that LHO was at a range of
several hundred yards from Kennedy. It was in fact only 80 yards. I could
put two in the fucker with a bolt action rifle at said range, three
    probably, in 8 seconds.

Never mind listen young man, you need to read listen little man. A cracking
short book which sums up the situation well.

  17. Probably used all their own stuff up on each other in the Iran/Iraq war.

    <Iraq>
    Afair the pesticide plants were comprehensively bombed in Gulf War One;
however it wouldn't have taken much to rebuild a nerve agent facility by
the back door - they had the expertise, and sanctions were bypassed
easily enough via Syria. If Saddam bought nerve agents from/via
Rumsfeld, he was a bloody fool, but perhaps that was the idea...

It was good, wasn't it. I quite like the Oliver Stone movie, but it
did take a few liberties, which last night's program nicely put in
    their place.

I think conspiracy theories are so popular because people have
problems accepting that it just one headcase can have such a huge
    effect.

You should try Reich's Mass Psychology of Facism. Banned both in the
Ussr and the US. A sure sign of a book worth reading IMHO.
