Neat idea

  1. Hi,

I've just built an extension on the garage, a bit of a combined bike
garage and workshop with a separate door for the bike. I was wondering
how to go about storing the clothes, when I hit upon the following
    idea..

The bike is parked up close against a wall, with the door close behind
it and a second wall close in front. Not much wall space at the side of
the bike and using it for clothes hanging would restrict access for
getting the bike in and out. I didn't want to use up valuable workshop
space, nor throw the clothes over the bike. A nice large space directly
over the bike, but using it would make it difficult to get the bike in
and out - or would it?

I used some of that 25mm chrome tube about five foot long - intended
for wardrobes plus a couple of brackets fixed to an overhead beam at
right angles to and directly over the lowest part of the bike, the seat
    area.

A few heavy duty clothes hangers used for the clothing means that when
not needed I can push them out of the way along the tube so they are
hanging over the bike. Pull them back out to put them on and what is
still left hanging is well clear of the bike until my return.
