Must be the time of year. 60 mile round trip yesterday revealed 4
dead deer [1] on the roads.

[1] Still need watching the bastards. Madame ran over the head of a
dead one last year and had very nasty moment.

A close one at that too..

Having a tootle over the local Ashdown Forest roads last night, and 4 deer
spring on the road in front of me. Much braking at the front and sliding
about at the rear of the bike, and I _just_ manage to avoid all of them.

A couple of miles up the road, I spot another group waiting to leap into
the road. Is it something to do with the time of year, or is it that I
don't ride on Forest roads much?

    Phew..

There was a bloke on the Bikesafe day that I went on whose brother had
been killed when a deer jumped out of the undergrowth and virtually
onto him whilst he was doing 50 on a long straight road on the
    outskirts of Epping Forest.

He went sliding down the road, and his head took a whack against a
tree. Bloke had several gory photos with him which had been taken by
    the accident investigators.

Can you remember his name? (and can he?)...

Bloke I used to know used to tell a similar tale.

Fraid not. Actually, I'm not certain that it was his brother, it could
have been his cousin. I think he said that this took place early last
    year.
