Afterwards I did consider that I had revved it past it's usefulness.
i.e. it make peak BHP at 11,400 ish, but I took it to 12k, so wasting
time there.

Also, I'm not a great revver, it to be fair, it was only the second
time I'd taken it above about 11k. So tight engine will do for me

I wonder what the maths are for distance lost by revving past peak
power?

 

Last drag I did was with a Porsche, over the back roads between Chobham
and Frimley.

Don't seem to see many power rangers around ..

Complicated. IIRC Bike or some such mag did an article about it years
ago and apparently its better to overrev in the lower gears and under
rev in the upper gears[1] depending on where in the powerband you end up
in.

[1] Apart from top obviously.

Shit, you're right.

 

Get the results back on Friday. Apparently there's 5 standard tests,
which include cholesterol and liver function, and some other things.
I'm going to insist that they give me the actual numbers, rather than
just saying "everything's fine, Mr Champion", so that I can scare
myself by reading about it all on the internet [1]

[1] A consultant I spoke to last year told me that the internet is a
hypechondriac's dream.
