Near death experiences are not funny, honest.

For me it all started with a phone call at work.

My Dad suffered a heart attack today. Mum, obviously very shaken,
picked up the phone and dialled, pretty much on auto pilot...

"My husband has chest pains and a feeling of pins and needles in his
arms..I think it's a heart attack. He's not at all well, please can you
    send an ambulance."

"Madam, you should call 999, we're a veterinary surgery."

Anyhow..second time lucky, paramedics were on the scene pronto. Dad's
been in hospital since lunchtime, hooked up to monitors and such like,
he claims he feels ok, a few days in the coronary care unit will tell
for sure.... Doctors suspect a blood clot from a routine operation he
    had a few weeks ago.

So, with nothing else that could be done for a while Mum remembered
she'd actually booked to take the dog in at the vets for it's
inoculations. This could be squeezed in before hospital visiting
hours... so I offered to take her, at least it might keep her mind off
    things.

And, during idle conversation with the vet she started to say.... "I've
had a really bad day, my husband had a heart attack and is now in
    hospi....."

The vet kept a very straight face, but I could see her pain. Nobody
knew whether to laugh or not.

Until later where now the trauma is over it again seems funny, Dad was
most amused by the tale when I saw him, which is good...

And that's my evening so far.

Hope the old boy recovers soon, give him my regards and tell him I know
what he's going through. He could even end up as good looking and happy
go lucky as me if he's really lucky.

You take yourself off to bed and rest as well, you're going to be busy
    over the next few weeks.

I've been busy for the past few.. no change really.

As I got the news I just switched off the PC and left the office, dunno
when I'm going back in yet.. Someone else can field that shit, it's
    unimportant.

  5. Ah. Dunno whether to larf or cry. Laugh, I expect, as he's OK.

Cheating death seems to run in the family. Tell him to look both ways
before crossing the road, once he's discharged from hospital.

That will give him something to smile about. While you're running
about after them remember there are people near who'll run around
    after you.

I'll even wear the nun outfit as I'm doing it.
    Tell him GWS.
