National milage register

    Has any one come across these people before?

    They have just sent me a letter asking for details about a bike that i part
    exed in 2002. They look Ok but it seams a bit dodge to me.

    Yes.

    When you do an HPI check on a vehicle they compare the mileage showing on
    the vehicle against the last recorded figure held on the National Mileage
    Register.

    Amazingly, when we discovered a car I'd bought had 20,000 miles less on the
    clock than the NMR had on their records - they simply changed it to what it
    showed on the clock!!

    So that's a *really* useful crime prevention aid.

    Yeah, the SO's been contacted a couple of times about a car we used to
    have. It sounded a bit suspicious to me at first, but once I found out
    the details they seemed OK.
