Nasty fluky wind out there

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Wicked Uncle Nigel, Apr 13, 2006.

  1. Quite exciting, it was. The GTS appears to have developed an armco
addiction. It took quite a firm knee to keep it in place on a couple of
    occasions.

    "Let's be careful out there".

Heh. Good point. It's probably had its molecules realigned.

"fluky wind" will probably explain the scary landing at Liverpool Airport
    [1] earlier this afternoon.

Mm-hmm. It was gusting nastily then dropping completely and swinging
through at least 30 degrees at one point. Definitely enough to make a
    landing interesting.

that might explain why the K6 was a bit flighty.
its ok its gone back now. The 9R has stayed cos it needs work [1]

the trip home on the back of the 10R WAS NOT FUN!

[1] anyone ever had to replace every shim? and a seized tenshioner,
    and head bearings.

I've done head bearings on one, but not shims. They're a cams out job
oon those, but they are easy enough to get in to once everything
surrounding the rocker cover is removed, unlike R6s.

Aye, been on the bike the last 3 days, Tuesday Wednesday on teh Varadero,
today on teh Guzzi. The Guzzis lack of a barn door made it less
susceptable to being blown about but it certainly showed me just how much
    said barn door 'protects' me

if I want to go out for a hoon then I'd prefer to take one that if I
throw it up the road its insured enough to get put right.

    thanks for the offer though.

they were good enough to give it to me for the whole day as it was. my
bike should have been finished but due to its fuckedness it wasn't.
    not their fault.

I just need some way of getting back there on Tuesday. WGC to there is
easy enough. just need a lift to work. the alternate is three buses
    and a train.

maybe i'll leave it to the weekend after instead.
