I was talking to a guy in work about this the other day - names of towns and
other places that have been changed around by the locals to show their
disdain for the dump they find themselves living in. Deadcat and Shagbot
were mentioned - anybody have knowledge of similar or wittier
    transmogrifications?

Some of the signs to a village near where I was dragged up were changed
for quite a while from Cranfield, to Crapfield

There was a sign I saw going into Maryport a couple of years ago, said
"Please drive slowly", "drive" was altered to "d i e".

  18. It was inevitable that signs for Shilbottle (A1 I think) were
repeatedly altered by crossing the 1st l. Even before the alteration I
    always read it that way.
