    Hi

Google rarely lets me down, but for the life of me I cannot
(confidently) determine the colour of my Fazer 1000S. (I need to know
the official colour so the spray man can get the right paint to do the
seat cowl - whose idea was a two-tone bike in the first place?).

My bike looks looks like this:
    http://www.bikez.com/motorcycles/yamaha_fzs_1000_fazer_2004.php

Possible Yamaha colours from around that time seem to be mistral grey,
silver storm or silver tech. Different websites suggest different
colour names for what would seem to be the same model colour so I do
    not trust them.

The sticker under the seat says "IC25 - 080" but that bears no
resemblance to the colour codes in the yamaha accessory book (which
annoyingly lists them, but without pictures).

    Any ideas appreciated!

    regards
    Darren

According to the parts manual - it's

"Raven" and "Liquid Silver" - code YB but prolly not:
"Team Yamaha Blue" - code DPBMC

Had a similar problem myself some weeks back.

You take the code from under the seat (which I believe identifies your bike
not the paint) to a Yamaha dealer and they can use this to look up the paint
code. My spray-man was able to mix up the paint using this code. Did rather
    a good job too.

    Good luck.

Thanks for the replies. It turns out it is Bluish Silver (aka Silver
Storm) code BS4. Apparently Yamaha no longer do touch up paints, at
least according to two separate dealers. Both dealers referred me to RS
bike paints - they can do it, but at £25 for a touch up pen set (paint
pen and laquer pen) and about £40 for aerosol can set (again paint and
    laquer).
