N.S.W. Licence Codes

  1. Sorry,
    I deleted the original posts, before I found this.
    This is from the Qld Transport Site, and are the current endorsement codes
    on the National Licensing scheme, and should apply equally in N.S.W.
    Whether these were the same in the past I don't know.

    Licence code
    The following codes may appear on your driver licence or learner
    licence.


    A You may only drive a vehicle with an automatic transmission.
    B You may only drive a vehicle with a synchromesh gearbox.
    I You may only drive while carrying, and in accordance with, an order
    under the Penalties and Sentences Act 1992, part 5 division 1.
    M You may only drive while carrying and in accordance with a medical
    certificate.
    S You may only drive while wearing glasses or contact lenses.
    V You may only drive while carrying and in accordance with a vehicle
    modification notice.
    X1 You may only drive while carrying and in accordance with an order
    under the Act.
    X2
    You may only drive a vehicle with an L' plate in accordance with the
    Driver Licensing Regulation.

    These are different to NSW

    R - ride a motorcycle
    L is a learner
    P is a provisional
    there's a code for probationary - if you elect to be on zero points for 12months
    instead of losing the licence for 3 forget what
    C for car etc
    there's more but they're different to the below anyway I think (I think the s
    for specs is the same)
