Oh once warm it's a sweet little thing, you just have to allow for the revs
to drop, it seems to have a neutral between each gear by design too!

No probs really, and already fond of the little chap. Smokes a lot less on
    40:1 synth oil too.

I did bung a load of 75W90 in as a temp measure and what came out looked
pretty manky so i'll change it soon.
These weren't MZ bolts so i blame whoever put them in...<ahem> ;-)

The factory book recommends GL-60 (winter and summer), after a bit of
Google round I think that GL means Gear Lube. I use EP80.

What's the URL of this website?
Still here (mainly because I haven't got off my arse to shift it yet),
can deliver in the London type distance area etc. etc. Email if want
    more gen. Seriously.

Ah, I remember that one. I had to replace it, too. I stuck the s/steel
bolts in to replace the shite ones there originally. The rear guard is
cast alloy and the bolts should go through holes in it, but somebody
had broken off the casting where the left-hand hole is, and it was
simply clamped by a bolt and a couple of large washers, one on each
side. Just sticking a bolt through won't secure it - it's mullered.
    There's no longer any hole.

I've run a 1984 125 on 50:1 with Comma 2T, no real nasty effects. Except
the small end was a service item.

  11. I ran it on fully synth, believe it or not.
MZs do that to you. "Decent" bikes just sort of get ignored.

and you wonder why your crankcases look "funny"?!

Will not try rapeseed oil? 40p/litre, about as pikey as it gets.Whole engine
will be a service item tho...
