Just tried to load the ETZ into the back of a 440.

Bloody stupid idea - it was obvious there was no way it was going to
fit, but we spent half an hour trying.....

What was even more bone headed was spending most of that time looking
at the boot of the car thinking it was going to get bigger. All in all
    a complete waste of time.

Would have gone in OK if you hadnt been a complete fuckwit, and seen you
needed to take the wheels out.

I have both an ETZ (non runner) and a 440. I just wonder how much
dismantling would be needed to get it in. I would have thought both wheels,
tank, seat and handlebars and possibly footrest assembly. I have someone
interested in it but it will need delivering. Perhaps after your experience
I will just hire a van.

If you need to hire a van (£45-50 minimum), then you obviously have money to
burn, as I would have thought half an hour with the spanners would have been
    much preferable.........................

Don't know how big a 440 is but I've managed to get a TS250/1 (same sort
of size and build to your 300) in the back of an Astra estate.

I think 'estate' is kinda the keyword here...

It's a hatchback. If it had been an estate we'd have had no problems.

    No, trust me.

    1. Leave the morphing trolls alone.
    2. Get a newsreader that works -
    - then this won't keep happening.

You know that impression some people seem to have of you being a bit
stupid? You're not helping it you know...

Not guilty.... Paul said he had a Volvo, so I kind of assumed it wasn't
    one of the Dutch hatchbacks.

    See my reply to WC.

I didn't think to ask Paul which model of Volvo he had, once he was
here, we were determined to at least *try* to make it fit.

Heh. True. We were both guilty of a bit of numptyness, to be fair - me
for not thinking to ask what kind of Volvo it was, him for not thinking
to tell me when asking if an MZ would fit.

  19. Fair enough. although I'm suprised that you couldn't get enough of the
back end in, tie it down and leave the hatch part open.

We tried and failed to get it on it's side and lift it far enough in
'cos the boot lip was too high and narrow.

Shame this hadn't have happened a few weeks back when I had the Toyota
    MPV hire car.
