My weekend adventure by Stephen Auvache aged 55 and a half nearly epic length.

  1. I can imagine. Is it a sooty black black mess, a bit like a powder bomb
going off, or is it more a streaky black mass that has made it's way to
    earth via gravity?

Are you trying to say there are dragons in Auvaches bathroom.
Or does it just smell like that?

That was my job too. How I rejoiced when, on moving house, we gained a
lovely Raeburn fire with doors that could be kept going day after day.
Daily grind became a once a week (but much bigger) jobbie. The evening
raddle was done by my Dad as he reckoned he was the only one with the
skills required. I never disabused him.

  13. Thanks for the warning, I'll keep my head down as they fly over me.

I managed to get a tour all over one a month or so ago. Sitting in the
driving seat and trying to remember which bit of kit I had worked on or
been involved in it design of was a brain teaser.

Tech: Have a look at this (Opens electronics bay).
Me: (pointing) I used to have a main flight computer as a foot stool.
    Tech and me together:
Tech: That computer is a real dinosaur.
Me: I wrote the test programs for that...............................
