Oh... think I'll pass in that case ta.
You can have a go on it anytime - just as soon as your insurance
expires & you renew it with someone else ;-)

P.S. you may not have spotted the minor sig change.

    kerrr-snip....

V important that. getting an univited probe, when merely seeking a bed
can ruin a mans stay anywhere. Nothing worse, thinking you're all set
up and then finding you get bed and a probe and then breakfast. hard
to keep the runny egg down.

    *smart arse mode off*

Mr. Champion, as if i needed further convincing, you have obliged.
    I'll be going then.

    Am i a **** now????

Looking at a map, dumping it at the golf club could be amusing.
What could possibly be suspicious about an unmarked white van being left
alone for a week or so?

I've friends in Preston, so could leave the van there and ride to the
ferry. Anyway, I've 12 months to sort out these minor niggles.

The best place to leave them is in front of the training centre and
nobody goes there after dark so it might look a bit dodgy. The main
car park is fine to leave something in for a long period *if* the
station is shutdown for maintenance but at other times it's
conspicuously quiet at night and something left there for a week would
    be noticed.

I'd be ok because I'd just go and speak to the right people but they
know that my van has company sign writing on it so sticking one of my
vehicle passes on someone elses van might make it look as if someone
had broken a window in my van and nicked the sticker.

I'm not due back on the nuclear sites for another three weeks but last
time I was on one they were on heightened security and they really
would blow up a suspicious vehicle. Last summer I received a ranting
phone call because one of our techs had left his security pass in full
view in his van when he went fishing on the beach behind Dungeness 'A'
and apparently he was disturbed by cops armed with sub-machine guns
    asking for identification. D'oh.
There's a pub 5 minutes walk from the ferry terminal and I'm sure the
owner would let you park a van there if you chucked him a few quid.

Now there's someone that was convinced that an in lap (1) was a
    slowing down lap.

    (1) I couldn't think of another way to describe it but I'm left
feeling slightly queasy about calling it that.
