i have never heard bitter public statements from either.

it's clear now anyhow gibernau never amounted to a real challenger.

  2. WTF??!??!?!?!?

Do you remember Qatar from 2 years back?
Rossi's team breaks the rules, gets punished, then tries
to win the race from the back of the grid in the first couple
of laps and crashes out, then Blames Sete for the whole deal
and does his "Sete will never win a race" prediction.

Usually Rossi is a pretty class act, but to say

"rossi has always been extremely gracious and gentlemany
    in his off-track persona."

is not quite true. He can be an Asshole at times.

Sure. His attitude on the podium at Jerez 2005 wasn't a shining moment in
    diplomacy.
Can you give the link to the source for that? I'd like to read the rest
    of the article.

furthermore, it's idiotic to expect these guys to be close friends off
track. that't not a reqiurement for gentlemany sportsmanship. rossi's
congratulations to elias after portugal was very public.

Strewth, if I realised that you would take the bait so easily, I'd have
    been more obvious about it!
