: this could be pretty damn cool.

Yep, I've been expecting something like this to come along. The only
worry I have with this stuff is the idiots that can't manage to drive in
two dimensions. How the hell are they going to manage three?

It would be nice, though, to escape the traffic jams...

  3. darwin's going to win more often. thankfully there's more open space up
in the air than on the street.

i'd be interested to see how easily it lands at a gas station.

it's not outrageously priced, especially when you consider what some of
the mass produced "custom" bikes are going for these days. but then,
it's not ass jewelry, it's meant to be ridden, er, flown.

I was talking about this on the phone last night w/brother in law in
Atlanta. He knows of a few guys that commute to work in kit-built
autogyros and land in the parking lot. He even mentioned one dude that
lands on the roof (not sure how the boss feels about that). Even
without VTOL capability, I think an autogyro would be a fun ride, and
just the thing for skipping over traffic, until the Moller Skycar comes
    out : )

VTOLs are great but I don't know if I'd want to ride something that would
drop like a rock if something went wrong. ;)

Something like this would be more my speed.

Of course, I am still waiting for the rocket scooter (74-Z Speeder Bike,
Star Wars version), though it might be a long time in coming to a store near
you, except for the packaged toy variety now available. <g>

  6. it apparently falls into the ultralite class which requires no pilot
license, per se. i don't think there's an FAA restriction on it yet,
except for normal avoidance areas like around airports and such which
would be common sense. the kerosene queens wakes would play havoc with
it. following general roadways coupled with a gps could get you most
anywhere cruising at 1000 ft or so. i didn't see where they said what
the service ceiling was, it may not be posted yet. it would be a good
    woodlands commuter.
